Life Cycle Cross-Cutting Activities

Life Cycle Cross-Cutting Activities was one of the four programmes of the UNEP/SETAC Life Cycle Initiative.

Aims of the cross-cutting activities

The aim of the cross-cutting activities was to address questions in relation to life cycle approaches that were identified as relevant in the overall user needs assessment, but that have not been further developed as part of the Definition Studies since they included topics that concern more than one programme.

Deliverables

LCCCA Task Forces

The cross-cutting activities embraced life cycle based topics that were relevant for one or more programmes. The following cross-cutting Task Forces were under discussion:

  1. Simple life cycle based tools,
  2. Integrated resource and waste management,
  3. Integration of social aspects into LCA,
  4. Function-Based Approach.

While TFs 1, 2, 3 were experience-sharing- and guidance-orientated, the focus of TF 4 was practice and training-orientated.
