Product Environmental Footprint Training during SETAC Helsinki on 26 May (registration until 8 May!)
The European Commission, in collaboration with UN Environment and the Life Cycle Initiative, is organizing a free training for LCA practitioners of the PEF/OEF rules on Sunday 26th May in Helsinki, back-to-back with the SETAC Conference. Please note there is no possibility to offer travel support to participants, but a share of the 50 places will be provided in priority to participants from developing countries and emerging economies. Designing better products, greening supply chains and providing credible information to stakeholders are important elements in the circular economy toolbox. The Environmental Footprint methods are an answer to these needs. The Commission developed the Product and Organisation Environmental Footprint methods (PEF and OEF, respectively) in close collaboration with industries, member states and NGOs. They calculate a range of environmental impacts, taking into consideration the entire life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials to the end of life of the product.
To improve your understanding and use of these methods, the European Commission, in collaboration with UN Environment and the Life Cycle Initiative, is organizing a free training for LCA practitioners of the PEF/OEF rules. During one day we will dive together into the technical details of PEF and OEF. We will explain the specific modelling guidelines for performing a PEF or OEF study, together with all other requirements such as the data needs, the review and reporting rules. The guidelines for developing PEF Category Rules (PEFCRs) or OEF Sector Rules (OEFSRs) are not part of this training.
