We welcome two new members to our dynamic team:

1) Meet UN Environment’s new Life Cycle Thinking Programme Officer, Kristina Bowers

Kristina Bowers is the new Programme Officer at United Nations Environment in Paris, who will also facilitate activities for the Life Cycle Initiative. Before joining UN Environment’s Economy Division, Kristina worked in both inter-governmental organizations and the private sector. In 2013, Kristina joined the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Montreal, Canada, as Junior Professional Officer, where she was leading the portfolio on business engagement. Before joining the UN, Kristina worked for a waste management company in Berlin, Germany in a public affairs role. Kristina holds a Master’s Degree in Public and Private Environmental Management from the Freie University of Berlin, Germany.

2) Meet the Life Cycle Initiative’s new Communications Consultant, Mathieu Carey

Mathieu Carey is the new Communications Consultant to United Nations Environment in Paris. Among other activities, he will be also be supporting communications for the Life Cycle Initiative. Prior to joining UN Environment, Mathieu worked in the energy sector as a Brussels-based journalist, editor at the OECD in Paris, and communications analyst for state-owned energy companies. His career has also taken him to the United States, Italy and Saudi Arabia. Mathieu graduated from the University of Glasgow and holds Masters in International Relations from the IEP Toulouse, and in International Energy from Sciences Po Paris. During the latter, Mathieu undertook research on desalination systems and the water-energy-food nexus in the Middle East.
