Networks

National, Regional and other Networks

In Phase III, the UNEP/SETAC Life Cycle Initiative identified about 50 international, national and regional networks which are located in Asia, Latin America, Europe, the USA, Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. Their major activities relate to knowledge sharing and communication, support of case studies, and development of life cycle inventories and impact assessment methods. Globally, an increasing trend in the formation of LCA networks over time is observed for example with respect to 2008 when about 20 networks had been identified. This first comprehensive mapping online can serve as a basis for enhancing cooperation and coordination among the LCA networks worldwide. We would like to acknowledge the contribution of Anders Bjørn & Mikołaj Owsianiak & Alexis Laurent & Christine Molin & Torbjørn Bochsen Westh and Michael Zwicky Hauschild from the TU Denmark who kindly contributed to complete this list (Source: Anders Bjørn et al 2012.
