Guidance on Social Life Cycle Assessment: Hybrid Event, Brussels & Online

We are happy to announce a hybrid event on December 7th, 2021 at 13h30 CET at the Residence Palace in Brussels, as well as online, entitled “Implementing the New UNEP 2020 S-LCA Guidelines”. The event will be organized by the SLC Alliance, hosted by Mrs. Zakia Khattabi, the Belgian Minister of Climate, Environment, Sustainable Development and Green Deal, and co-organized with the Life Cycle Initiative and the Quebec Government Office in Brussels. It will have a hybrid format, with some availability for participants to be present in person and others joining online. Register for the event on Eventbrite.

At the event, we will launch a number of new resources for S-LCA practitioners and users – the results of seven out of nine pilot studies that put to test the newly released UNEP 2020 S-LCA Guidelines; the  UNEP 2021 S-LCA Methodological Sheets; and the translation of the UNEP S-LCA Guidelines in French, Dutch, and Italian (supported by Quebec Government Office in Brussels, the Belgian Federal Institute for Sustainable Development, Prof. Luigia Petti University of Pescara (Italy) and her Team, and Prof. Gabriella Arcese University of Cusano, Italy).

The event will provide an opportunity for practitioners, companies and government organizations to familiarize themselves with the UNEP 2020 S-LCA Guidelines and to hear from companies in a variety of sectors that have implemented the Guidelines. An armchair discussion on the future of S-LCA will also be held at the event, highlighting global initiatives that are likely to shape how we consider social impacts in value chains in upcoming years.
